To sacrifice sleep for art
As we get older, we get less free time and therefore, value it more. Did you eagerly go to bed at the age of 7? Of course not, as there were so many interesting activities to do instead of sleeping. But today I’d give everything for one more hour of peaceful sleep in the morning. On weekends I face the toughest dilemma: to amuse myself or to stay in bed till afternoon. The first option always wins because fresh air and a nice stroll never hurt anyone. Plus, I try to find inspiration for my work and picture galleries help me a lot with that! I prefer modern art as far as its representatives aren’t limited in tools, materials or themes. I know firsthand what pressure can do to your accomplishments. For me, a successful artist must have:
An original view of things.
Sometimes a person has got creative skills and enough potential but his paintings lack a sense a balance. You look at them and understand that there’s too much improvisation with colors or texture. So, to my mind, harmony in art is vital too. It’s like about a dish: if you make it too salty, it won’t taste good anymore.
The pictures of our local artists aren’t the only source of my inspiration. Lots of them are undoubtedly amazing but they aren’t as perfect as oil canvases by Leonid Afremov. You won’t see them at any exhibition but you’re welcome to visit Leonid’s virtual gallery. I’ve already got one of his incredible works and can’t imagine a better piece of wall décor for my bedroom. See one of the best fall paintings here. There’s something special about those vivid hues – they’re pulling me like a magnet! I look closely to each stroke and it seems I’m not in the room anymore. The canvas makes me feel I’m in the forest. I can even hear the rushing of the foliage and the water’s meandering. A light wind blows through the golden leaves and oh, some of them fall into the river and become eternal wanderers. All around is yellow, orange and red, except for the blue sky peeking through the branches. I adore this combination of bright colors!
Now, as you’ve seen a fall scenery painting by talented Afremov, I don’t sound proofless anymore! Follow my example and let the rays of the sunny art fill your home with warmth!
